Take the Van option. From S.F. head east on Interstate 80 past the Reno/ Sparks area until you reach Fernley, NV. Then take highway 95 south to Las Vegas area, from there either 15 east or 40 east depending on what side of Grand canyon you want to be on. It will be a long haul, expect anywhere from 600 to 700 miles.

There are many tour buses in chinatown to visit Grand Canyon and Vegas 3 day 2 night for $245 per person including hotel.
If you don't want to fly to LAS or PHX then drive, you can drive I-580 to 58 then 15 to Vegas(8 hour), then 93, 40, 64 to grand canyon( 4 hours)

The Grand Canyon is drivable from Vegas, and the canyon is incredible, yet as others suggested, it relatively is going to be relatively heat, over one hundred ranges in the summertime. Flying into San Francisco is a relaxing selection. it relatively is an relatively relaxing city, and additionally has appropriate ecosystem. purely north of the city is the lavatory Muir Woods national Monument, and has a significant redwood wooded area. The stress up the rocky coast alongside Rt. a million is very appropriate too. From San Francisco, you additionally can stress as much as the Napa Valley section and do some wine tasting, or stress to Yosemite national Park, this is fairly appropriate. have relaxing on your holiday!

contact grayline tours main office or go on line and look them up and contact them. they will have many options to pick from provided you want to travel with a group.
personally, ive found that when i want an adventure, i contact some of my friends that drive cross country trucks, usually there is someone going to where i want to go and they are glad to have the company. the only draw back is that you have to find a way back, unless your ride is coming back thru and you can arrange a meet up.
just make sure if you opt for this adventure that you know the driver and their family very well. always better safe than sorry.
also, greyhoud bus service can get you there, you just may have to change buses a couple of times.
good luck and have fun. the grand canyon is fabulous

The easiest and fastest way to do this [ and probably the most expensive ] is to fly SFO-LAS .Give Scenic Airlines a call and fly LAS -GCN
Scenic offers a variety of tour packages and I've used them in the past and found them to be a good company.
If you plan it right you can actually do this trip out and back in a single day .
have fun

never before saw that direct offer, but have a good idea how to do
simply hijack a coach in San Francisco,
and have the driver bring you there,
you even won't have to care about how to come back,
they easily will take you, thought I cannot promise that it will, the way back, work in one day.
