Make your own double
stick tape, but use Duct Tape.
I do it all the time.
And it comes in all kinds of colors.
I usually do one spot in the middle
and then one spot under each placemat.
With Duct Tape, nothing moves.

put a bead of rubbery hot glue around the table cloth near where the edge of the table will be, and perhaps a circular bead in the center, and allow it to dry, this will give some tackyness to the cloth and allow it to more easily stay in place.
perhaps add a few dots of the glue in other places under the cloth as well for added slipproofing.

I use tape and it works great. Maybe you can get a table cloth that is rough on the bottom so it grab the table.

I would use those removeable velcro strips, they're designed to be removable. You might also think about double-sided rug stay-in-place tape.

try to put it on as evenly as you can. then weigh it down with a vase of flowers or other heavy-ish table decoration.

Get the table off the wall. Gravity is useful with things like this, you know.
