To quote my favorite author Orsen Scott Card...

"Doesn't love show it's face when it satifies the needs of a loved one, for that loved ones sake alone?"

Now, I know how I appreciate my wife, so this isn't an "I'm looking for ideas." kind of question. I'm just curious what other people do.

None of this "I clean, I wash dishes, I take out the garbage." crap. What is it you do for your spouse that's 'special', that you have nothing to gain from other than knowing you did it for them.

Katrina,
I'm not talking about common everyday chores here. I do dishes when my wife doesn't. I do them because I live here also and they need to get done. The trash has to go out. So, I take it out every week. These are the common factors of living. If you lived alone, you would have to do these same things, why? Because you want to make yourself feel special? NOW, building something for you. That's great! He did it for YOU. That's what I'm talking about here.

I give him a kiss every time we pass by each other. rub his shoulders and or back just out of the blue. Wash his back in shower or bath, without him asking. Pick him up a guy like gift when I am out shopping ( usually something to do with tools). Lots hugs and cuddling, and yes he likes to cuddle too

I buy my husband gifts,
sometimes little things like chocolates,
other times fun stuff like a new Xbox game or something.

I also ask him his preferences in things like what does he want me to cook and I ask his opinion on everything

As a submissive wife I am there to provide for all my husbands needs I will also run him a bath or shower when he gets home from work, make his favorite foods and drinks.

I make him brekkie in bed sometimes

he could probably answer this question better than me!!!

but we have been married for 20 (happy & faithful) years so we must be doing something right huh?????

What is wrong with cleaning cooking to show someone you care?
Everyone shows they love and appreciate each other in different ways, I think it would be wrong to judge that.
My honey and I love to leave notes to each other all the time. He in fact even though you don't seem to like this-- labors for me, he built my horse a fence and made me a book shelf with ceder, it's beautiful. He cleans when he knows I'm tired and cooks when he can tell I don't want to.
We snuggle every night and spend as much time together as possible.
...I gain nothing but making him happy, which in turn makes me happy, so I guess it's all selfish. :D He is all I think of.

I see your point....

P.S. So massages count then, I do lots of that. ;)

I am not married nor have I ever been, but I once prepared a meal for a young woman I wanted to date. All of our friends were there, as was her then-boyfriend. She volunteered to help me pass out the plates, and when it came time to give her hers, I had her take a seat. I went upstairs and came back down with a plate that had been garnished with rose petals. I was told later that it was extremely sweet but angered the guy she was dating. I hadn't actually thought of it that way; I simply wanted her to know that she was special to me. I did a lot of things like that when we eventually got together.

I only know that I give him my full attention and unconditional love. Everything I do, I have him in my mind first, I can only put him first before me and I'm not too sure if its something special I do for him but I think its what I am here for .. for him!

Don't use the crutch of quotes. Pen your own verse and share it.

Just go out of your way, in every way, to make her feel special.

NOTE: Why so many negatives?
