Mostly because we got our act together intelligence wise after Clinton decimated our intelligence agencies.
Also our willingness to engage them head on.
horse girl baby:
You made a good point, only it does not get the false point across that you wanted it to get across.
There have been in other parts of the world, but have you ever wondered why?
Other areas that have been attacked do not and are not utilizing intelligence as we are now. They don't have things in place like the Patriot Act like we do. They are lax and so they get attacked. These places are where the Dems want to take us if they gain more power. It's called the "pre-9/11 mentality".

Al-Qaeda did not attack us in the US for over 8 years after the first bombing at the world trade center. They want another big one like 9/11 and will wait until they can. Hopefully our security measures will mean they never can. Getting a gun and shooting things up does take much planning or resources, so if they wanted to do that they could. Most countries have local off shoots of Al-Qaeda who are doing the "small" attacks but we seem not to have the problem so we are not getting small attacks.

President Bush reestablished the military and intelligence agencies that Clinton emasculated and undermined. We have stronger defenses and better awareness than we had with the previous administration. The war on terror is taken more seriously than ever. Further steps need to be implemented. We need to further secure our borders, both north and south, and have the national ID cards with finger prints. This way we will know who the enemy is if he were to come within our borders. Like it or not the Patriot Act has helped tremendously in apprehending hostiles against our country. I support it!
We need to keep up our defenses up by funding better weapons for defense. Anti-nuclear missiles etc.
And we need to "hire" a strong person as our nation's leader!

The answer is a combination of a change in our tactics and a change in theirs. We vastly improved intelligence gathering, and enforcement. We have intercepted many plots before they could happen and we have shown that we are willing to fight back. We've made it extremely difficult for them to carry out any operations in America successfully. But they have also changed their strategies. They are not really trying to attack in America any more. They are concentrating on discrediting America. And every time we over react to a vague unspecified threat, they succeed. As long as they keep the violence going in Iraq, they succeed. They did their damage and if we were not on the defensive they surely would hit us again, but now they make us look like fools for being on the defensive. It is a lose lose scenario. And they have nothing to lose.

this is each and every of the above. The morons who offered the 8-365 days argument between the WTC assaults purposely fail to point out that it grew to become into not 8 years between the 1993 WTC assaults and the defeat of our U.S. Rangers in Somalia, wherein al Qaeda grew to become into circuitously in contact. It grew to become into by no means 8 years between the 1993 WTC bombing and the assaults on our African embassies. It grew to become into by no means 8 years between those assaults and the assaults on U.S. different halves and little ones in the Khobar Towers incident that killed American contractors' households in Saudi Arabia. It grew to become into by no means 8 years between Khobar Towers and the attack on the united statesCole. what proportion situations did Al Qaeda attack and kill harmless civilians in the process the Clinton Presidency? Clinton buttkissers will inform you one. the reality will inform you a minimum of six situations, and bill Clinton DID not something! He even placed a muzzle on the CIA and prohibited the CIA from assassinating bin weighted down as quickly as that they had actionable intelligence, and enable bin weighted down bypass whilst Sudan presented handy him over. thank you President Bush for understanding that there is a time for international kinfolk and a time for action. Mr. President, you're a real patriot and history will long honor the sacrifices you made, the struggles you continued, and the thoughts you made to place a end to the slaughter of civilian lives and combat terror worldwide. In doing so, you have stronger the lives persons right here in the region of beginning immensely and freed hundreds of thousands in captivity to terror around the globe. thank you, President Bush!

Because now they understand that the US will fight back . In -09, I would not bet on it. Also Intelligence has played a major part. Some want think this is not correct, because they think the Intelligence Agencies should tell them everything, which would not help US , if they broadcast everything for the terrorist to hear too.

Because Bush is doing his job. I don't care what any Liberal says about "illegal" wire-tapping, and the like. It's keeping Americans safe, and NOT blown to smithereens!

Because now the terrorist know that we will fight back, unlike all the terrorist attacks that happened when Clinton was in office.THANK GOD FOR GEORGE BUSH. How did Clinton respond to the 1st World Trade Attack, U.S.S Cole, Embassy bombing and other American attacks? He did nothing, now the terrorist realize we will retaliate.
