Why do people feel the need to be rude when answering question. I haven't experienced it personal but sometimes I read answers that make me so mad. Don't people know you can disagree and give your opinion without being nasty.

I know it's not really a question you can give a straight answer to it just makes me so mad.

Hey, I am guilty of rude answers. Usually I am very nice, and put a lot of effort into a answer, but sometimes especially when I am tired I read something and think to myself 'how stupid are you?' I get nasty.
It actually happened last night, and I was just so mad at the person asking the question, I went off! Then this morning i get up and check my mail. i had a violation notice. It was pretty bad, because I had a look at the question and answers again and more than half were like mine, some were worse.
I know it's hard not to take offense to some of the answers. But there are so many genuinely nice people on here.

What is rude to one may not be rude to another. It's often a case of personal style in expressing oneself. To expect a "pristine" environment when involving oneself in a public domain/forum such as this one, is to think that those who use personal computers or frequent internet cafes are all angels and Yahoo!Answers should have actually been named Yahoo! Angels (or Yahoo! Heavens).

People need to be reminded every now and then, that's for sure. But don't waste your time bemoaning the fact that there are a lot of nasty people with their equally nasty remarks. Appreciate the diversity that exists in the world. Value those you like and learn to be more tolerant of those you don't. You can't change people but you can choose how to react towards them without necessarily disturbing your own equilibrium.

Now go ahead, keep on asking and answering questions the way you think it should be done. Who knows some souls out there might just take after your style and spread GOODNESS all over this site.

It is free and it is anonymous.
I know it's frustrating, but with time you will learn to skip the rude answers as if they are not there.
I have to disagree on a point though. You said "Don't people know you can disagree and give your opinion without being nasty." Sometimes you get your point through better if you ARE nasty!! Look at the bright side, it's fun even when reading the nasty posts, just don't take them personally.

Well, some take y!answer seriously...they come to help people by giving their own thought on the question...
Some take y! answer for fun such as taking points and enjoy themselves with the contacts they have here...
Some just want to have fun by insulting and harrast people and make all rude comments...
so, what you need here is to take and forgive...
nothing serious here, they do have many people who really come to help! forgive those who is nude and nasty!
best of luck!

Ask a well thought out responsible question and you will receive the like in return. If you ask irritating or offensive questions then you will receive what you deserve.
