No, both teams had to deal with the bugs, the pitchers and the hitters had to deal with them in their face on their neck. They only lasted like one inning. How could bugs be looked at as home field advantage when the bugs were flying around the Indians too?

Yes and No pending on the circumstances. The Bugs were on both teams. Alot of people don't realize that yes they can be a danger pending on the situation. Look at Kenny Lofton for example. He had one in his eye before the inning started. That has happened to me (while working). What if it happened during an inning where the batter hit the ball and he dropped it because a bug was in his eye, or worse the ball hit him. I have had bugs fly in my eye (rare but it happens) and even in my mouth. Lets face it bugs are a part of life and things happen. How they deel with it in sports vary from team to team. Jacobs field has had bugs before but this is the worst that I have seen them. This is just my opinion.

I so knew someone would ask this question. Both teams had to deal with the bugs. The difference was: Carmona took it like a man and Joba whined like a little girl. Ya, Petitte owned the Indians, but so did Carmona OWN the Yankees, except for that one HR. He gave up three hits. That is owning man and he threw 9 innings. That is owning. Suck it up Yankee fans. Stop making excuses and using bugs as the reason you lost. Just admit that your team is underachieving with all the salaries you have in that lineup.

How is this a home field advantage? Waddya think the Indians play in that situation all the time? Both teams had to play in the same conditions, there was no advantage.
It was up to Torre to request a delay and he didn't do it. He said that it didn't even occur to him. I imagine any other manager worth his stones --like Pinella, Cox, Francona--would have been out there talking with the umps to get a delay.

No way. It should be considered part of the ground rules. Bugs are everywhere... they just happened to congregate at Jacobs Field tonight. Fausto had to put up with the same conditions Joba put up with when he threw two wild pitches. The difference between the two is Joba got too hyped up and overthrew, whereas Fausto stayed within himself and held the potent offense in check.

Are you kidding? Let's just put skirts on everybody. In a sport where mediocre players average 3 million dollars a year, playing on a field full of bugs is not asking to much.

it could've happened at another ballfield as well. It just happened to be at Cleveland. They are bugs and they congregate wherever they please..but i dont believe they should have delayed the game because of bugs.
