they are convinced? Why would astronauts who've been so moved while in space by god's creation convert to islam? why when you look at human being hand, does it spell out in arabic the name of God ((allah) ? see for yourself thru science and not the media and religious talk. Look at the science in each holy book and assess your belief there. I find it impossible that an unletterd man Mohammad 1400 yrs ago would know about the moutains, embrology, water system, universe, the different colors of the bottom of the ocean( which we only found in the 21 st century!) How could this man know about the fingerprints, the mind (psychology ) and which part of the brain is respnsible for lying and many many more examples??? How could he compile a book so perfect in its eloquence that no poets or man in the last 1400 yrs could produce a couple sentences ( god's challenge) ?

Upon substantial deliberation, those with an objective, analytical mindset come to realize that there is no foundation under science which we can truly know.
The psychological results are often difficult to deal with, causing even a man of science to often times ironically turn towards religion to alleviate the gravity of such a realization. This is accomplished through the soothing hands of faith and revelation.

It's a common misconception among Muslims that Neil Armstrong converted to Islam. Neil Armstrong had to even make carefully worded statement to refute these rumors and stories. (His statement was carefully worded because he didn't want to offend any Muslims.) In the statement he clearly states that he did not convert to Islam.

If I'm not wrong, Islam gives much priority to learning. For all the questions that you ask, it would be best to learn and research before blindly believing what's told by only Muslims that may surround you. Then you will learn that not only the Neil Armstrong story is wrong, you will also learn that there is no Arabic imprint on the human hand. It is just as likely some roman numerals or the name of the Hindu God depending on your hand. OR that there is a strong likelihood that Mohammed may have been educated in Judaism and Christianity while he was doing business in different parts of Arabia.

As Islam teaches, learn. Soon you'll find that many religions, not just Islam, are made up stories mostly used for political reasons.

Actually, more people do NOT believe in a religion than believe. Most likely because religions are the word of MAN and not a god.

Religions have never been started by true prophets or highly spiritual people--they are started by followers who have their own interpretation of what these women and men say. It is extremely rare when a follower of a religion is spiritual--that is especially true of christianity, islam, judaism, and hinduism. Heck, even buddhism.

So-called "holy books" are written by man (editorial "man," as in humanity at large), edited by man, interpreted by man, and misconstrued by man.

Are there truths in those books? Sure. But, remember that you must put the texts in context with the times and conditions in which they were written--much of which does not apply now. They are histories, stories that were probably much better understood back then than now. Examples of how people can live better lives and attain enlightenment--which is NOT through a god or through belief in a MAN. It is through killing off your EGO, ceasing the incessant, compulsive chatter (thinking, and living in the past and future) in your head, and actually KNOWING your true self--which is knowing the Devine Oneness.

so why not you go and ask your god as the man thought you?
do you believe in the american created yahoo answer than your god?

islam have nothing to do with sciences. no matter how much you want it to be, it is not. (Buddhism is a lot closer to sciences than your dirty religion of death)

science never teach people to believe rather than learn and experimental.
