need to forget the painful past and try to live again

Spend time by yourself. do things that you couldn't do before. Make new friends. Go and have a good time and don't let the past creep in on you and wreck it. The more you think about something the more it will consume you. Get it out of your head because if you don't the right person for you may walk right on by. Open your eyes and look at things like you are seeing them for the first time. You would be amazed how many things will be different if you just look a little closer. Be happy and good luck

The only way to get over past pains and move on is to resolve them.
It might be that you can't change anything about what happened, but you may have to accept the it happened and decide you won't allow it to happen again, by learning from it.
It might be that you have to forgive yourself or the other person. This doesn't mean you forget - to forget is to repeat, but you put it behind you.
Look forward to a brighter day. Dwelling on the past is the surest way of making it affect every tomorrow. Don't ponder it over and over, look towards something different.

Try to spend some time with someone who will make you laugh your pain away...

I mean someone with an awesome sense of humor....

You'll laugh so hard, you'll work out that tension and built up pain inside and even begin to laugh at yourself, because only then you will release.

I truly wish I knew.
All I know for sure is that during the most painful times in my life, God got me through. I can lay all my pain at His feet and somehow, I make it through another day. I know it is God because I sure couldn't do it by myself.
I'll say a prayer for you too.

generally we dont forget something that occurred painful to us. physcially or emotional-i still remember being stung by a bee.....and my kdg boyfried dumping me..... try not to focus on love except when it comes to you spoil yourself take up a hobby focus your energy into work or family-positive things. and in time you will be able to deal with the situation better.

You don't. When you try to not remember it will end up controlling your life, and the issues will resurface in your new relationships. Read the book "Heartwounds." That is the only thing that helped me when I was in your situation.
