Ganguly. Do you need the reasons too? Edit: OK. Ganguly made this team believe that we can win anywhere in the world. We did have the talent but that was not enough as we were just not getting the desired results overseas. Captaincy is not all about how you place the fielders, how you rotate your bowlers. Its rather about how influential you are in the team. Players should look up to you and believe they can win. That was all about Ganguly. He lost his form with the bat but never allowed the players deviate from their goals. Dhoni on the other hand is riding upon the success of Ganguly. This is Ganguly's team. Oh btw sorry, I was a bit late to answer the second part.

As an Aussie I like Dhoni - he is mature, steady and a risk taker. Give him some time and I do not think the Indian fans will be disappointed. Ganguly only worries about Ganguly - Dhoni is a leader and concerned about his team.

No. The chances of him being in a team consistantly itself are less, so what's the point of making him the captain. Its very early days to judge Dhoni's leadership, lets give him chances enough, if not, Yuvi is the next best option.

Ya, i am agreed to it, that Gangully should be captain of Indian Cricket team, he is more capable to carry both sides whether its Test of One day even T20.
Gangully being the most successfull Captain of Indian Cricket team till date......He knows how to win a game.....he is a person with good disciplined etiquette, who can communicate well with team mates......He should be given chance to be captain.....

i m a ganguly fan but i also dont think sourav should made captain.because he will retire almost in 3years..so we have to find new captain.it can be bad also for sourav it should effect his career...
finally....it is hard 2 think...sharad power's selectors will make sourav captain
