The mother was poisoning her with some type of "pine-oil" cleaner. Munchhausen by Proxy Syndrome.

Hi Lava,, I remember...it looked just like Pine Sol cleaner. Pine Sol cleans everything! Just a capful will do it...how sad was that! :D

The label on the (fictional) cleaner says NU PINE of NUE PINE.
That s the Sixth Sense poison.
