The Book of Shadows is essentially the Wiccan spellbook, it holds records of spells, rituals, and other magickal workings, including notes on how well they worked. Typically, you dont want to buy one (I'm not even sure if you really can), and making your own is simple : Just take a notebook or journal (I'd pick a nice one) and start recording your spells and such.

The Book of Shadows can be a collection of spells, rituals and beliefs unique to a Tradition, passed from teacher to student. When I was studying for my First Degree initiation (in early 80's), my teacher actually handed me his and had me copy certain parts of it into mine as a way to get me started. But your Book of Shadows should be your personal book of rituals, thoughts, meditations, spells, and anything else dealing with your beliefs and experiences.
You can compile your information in attractive, leather bound journals. But you certainly can use any notebook or journal or even make one yourself. Some places will try and sell you special inks, paper, or journals--saying it will make your works more effective--not true.
Some people use the terms Grimoire and Book of Shadows interchangeably, but their nature is somewhat different. Historically, ceremonial magicians created books known as grimoires. The word "grimoire" came over time to apply specifically to those books which did indeed deal with magic and the supernatural. The first grimoires appear in the High Middle Ages, growing out of earlier traditions, notably of medieval Jewish mysticism. Some famous ones have been published, such as the Key of Solomon.

What is... Book of Shadows is a Neo-Pagan/Wiccan book used to record all spells used by the Witches. People use them to refer the spells for future practices, to teach alternative methods in some cases, or, in the cases of one witch I know, make sure that one always has a counter curse for any dark mystical backlash (a.k.a "Karma").
Where is... You can buy one at any store that sells common journals or notebooks. However, I know of a wonderful store call Labrynth (not sure if they expand out of state) where you can buy personalized, organic notebooks ideal for a Book of Shadows because of their purity.
How can... you can make one yourself by buying needles and strong thread (thick thread or smaller rope works best), a collection of paper (your choice), cardboard big enough to bend in two and have ample coverage for paper, a small wooden stick (an unmarked ruler works), a patch of cloth (your choice) to cover the cardboard, glue, and any other thing you want.
You simply need to sew the paper together using your strong thread. Place an even layer of glue over the outside of the cardboard, careful to avoid the edges. Sew the rule onto the leather or glue it onto the outside center of the cardboard. Place the cloth onto the cardboard and let dry. After it is dry, tuck the edges of the cloth around the edges of the carboard and sew together. Make sure the rule stays in place by adding an extra layer of glue or stitch around it.
Next, sew, staple or glue your paper into the book. Let dry, decorate, and enjoy.
p.s. having a deity bless your creation wouldn't hurt, and filling up the pages with scribings of your own dabblings would pretty much turn your basic book into a book of shadows. ;) I can get too detailed, can't I?

As has already been said it is a witches note book or log or spells, prayers, charms and so forth.
I do have a special book that I write them into, a nice artists, ring bound, drawing book. But I initially write them into a note book and transfer them later.
Your Book Of Shadows can be as simple or as elaborate as you want.

it's best just to get a blank journal or notebook of some kind and write down your spells, rituals and various other magics.
BTW; witchcraft itself is not evil, it's the intention of the witch that makes it so.

I've been at the recieving end of sorcery and divination. It is evil as far I can tell. It's better and more fun to be a demon's enemy than his friend.
