im 31 weeks pregnant and i've been reading how the baby's skin is pretty sensitive right now. i love poking around my stomach and trying to feel my baby's different body parts. i know she can feel me poking around because she''s move when i poke at her. my husband thinks im hurting her when i poke at her. when one of her body parts are poking out i try to get my husband to feel it but he'll barely touch my stomach because he doesnt want to hurt her. he's just being paranoid right? does it hurt the baby to poke at her?

No, your not hurting the baby, your hubby is just nervous and yes hes being paranoid. Guys get funny like that. Bring your husband to your next prenatal appointment and ask your provider this question for him right in front of him. I'm sure hearing you aren't doing any harm will set him at ease. congratualtions and good luck

My dr told me it doesn't hurt them (unless it's an abrupt, sharp poke, but I doubt you're doing that.) They also said it takes an extreme hit to the stomach to affect the baby.

I also read in one of my weekly updates, I'm 30 weeks, to poke at the baby and they'll respond.

I'm sure there's tons of different opinions on this, but pushing and rubbing isn't going to hurt them, it'll hurt you before it hurts them, so if it's hurting you or make you sore...maybe don't do it....

I'm interested to see what other people say.

That's a poor answer neecue, get some experience before you speak...

Oh No. Carry on.
Have trust on your motherly intuition.
When I was preg, way back in 1985, my baby in the womb remained calm weeklong and started moving up only when my husband comes near me at weekends. We had no sex, but having my husband beside me in bed put the baby doing somersaults in my belly.
To tell you very frankly, I felt cheated and ignored. It is I who is taking all the trouble for the kid and still he feels more concerned for his father?/ I felt really cheated.
And I felt cheated again when he turned 18 months. He bonded with his father so strongly that i felt like a maid.
Do all women feel like that?

It is okay to poke the baby as long as it's not to hard of course...What feels the best is if you rub your belly..My boys would move the most when my husband would just rub my belly..also he would put lotion on it...Yes, he's just being paranoid..
