if it was so good why wasnt it talked about as much as the tigers?

The Panther was the better all around tank. It had a good gun, good performance, great suspension and good armor. The Tiger was a great tank but it was very heavy, and much slower than the Panther. The 88mm on the Tiger coupled with it's very thick armor made it a bear to attack unless you could get behind it. At one point four Tigers held up a whole division for some times.

what do you want in a tank alot of Armour and a big gun well the Jagdtiger with its128mm gun had both more than any other tank in ww2 and given the choice i would rather be sitting in that baby over any other tank, there are different variants of both tanks and given that speed and mobility might be required depending on the type of terrain your fighting in the panther might be a better choice however for brute force and sheer terror the tigers rule no doubt

Yes. It was faster and more economical on fuel but with the same hitting power.
