i got my learners 20 days ago, and have driving 3 hrs , but i find it soo hard to start driving the car, (when u have to do the clutch+accelerator thing, applying accelerator and taking foot of clutch), it takes me like 10 times to finally start moving the car. is there anyway for me to practice doing this or anything that would help me in any way.. thanks!

It takes practise. As long as you know you have to coordinate the clutch+accelerator, you are half way there! My dad didn't want to take me to school one day so he tossed me the keys to an old junker and told me, "it goes 1-2-3-4" as he motioned the gear changes, then went back to bed. It took practice, but I got it and haven't driven an automatic since then. It's definitely a good skill to have. Try doing it sort of slow - give it a little more clutch than accelerator which will disengage the gear while you work on getting the accelerator. And if you kill the engine a couple of times, just think of it as one step closer to driving. Oh yeah, make sure you are in an empty parking lot while you are doing this. It might piss off other drivers if you can't get moving at that stoplight. :-)

in an empty parking lot, slowly practice getting the feel of the connection between the clutch and the gas - there's a certain point where you'll find a neutral balance by using both at the same time which will hold the car in neutral (while in gear)without stalling. Then slowly let more clutch out while slowly giving it more gas - then reverse and get it back to that neutral point. Once you get used to locating and controlling that connecting point, you'll be in control of the car - even on the steepest hill in town. Don't give up - if you conquer this, you can drive anything!

Find a hill, one that is not busy, and practice on that. Once you master a stick shift going uphill, the rest is downhill from there! That is how I learned. I actually prefer a stick shift, I find that I save a lot more in gas and I can accelerate on the on-ramp of the freeway a lot better.

that is the hardest part of it all, first and reverse, once the car is moving things get easier. try a little more gas as you ease off of the clutch.
it is kind of difficult to explain how to do, sitting behind a desk. practice in a large empty parking lot.

remember, in a car clutch slowly out and quickly in.

go to the mall on a sunday, or when it will be deserted; and practice.

then go for a long drive to a secluded spot somewhere, and do it again (note, its practice)

you can't just magically get it, it takes practice.

Find a hill and stop just before the top. Keep trying to take off without having your car roll backwards. It only took me about 20 minutes to learn using that. Good luck.

i assume a great form of people think of "nicely if there is automatic transmission, why ought to I study instruction manual?" for my area, i think of it incredibly is a solid ability to have. So why not? i for my area desire to evaluation stick. i think of it would be much less confusing for me, certainly. Being that i'm left-footed and ambidextrous. I doubt i'd have a difficulty with discovering the thank you to apply the grab and transferring and whatnot. the 1st time I drove a vehicle it grew to become into so puzzling. a entire set decrease back for me because of the fact i think incredibly awkward utilising my precise foot in basic terms. I dunno. It grew to become into in basic terms strange. I saved feeling obligated to apply my left foot on the pedals. So I determine having the grab pedal would make it much less confusing for me by some skill? I watch my grandpacontinual stick, and it does look lots greater technical, yet i'd nonetheless do it. So, sure, i'm for it! not in basic terms that, however the maintenance on instruction manual transmissions is way less confusing and greater less expensive. they are commonly greater less expensive vehicles as nicely. subsequently, greater cost-effective for toddlers. So, i for my area do not see why not.
