If a piece of iron is magnetized, and then brought above its Curie temperature, there will be a phase transition such that it loses its magnetization. If it's brought above this temperature and then cooled in the presence of an external field, its magnetic domains will align itself with the field and then exhibit the same magnetization as the external field.

The Curie point (Curie temperature) is a characteristic property of a ferromagnetic material. Ferromagnetism is the "normal" form of magnetism which we are all familiar with like refrigerator magnets or horseshoe magnets

The Curie point of a ferromagnetic material is the temperature above which it loses its characteristic ferromagnetic ability. At temperatures below the Curie point the magnetic moments of the material's atoms are partially aligned within "magnetic domains". If the temperature is increased from below the Curie point, thermal fluctuations arise and eventually destroy this alignment, until the net magnetization goes to 0 at and above the Curie point. At temperatures below the Curie point, an applied magnetic field leads to the magnetization following a hysteresis curve per the applied field strength. Fe, Co and Ni have Curie points
What good is this you ask?
Well the effect is used for erasing and writing of new data on magnetic media, like Sony's Minidisc format.
The Curie point effect can be used in temperature-controlled magnetization applications like the temperature control of soldering irons

The Curie point or Curie temperature of a metal when heated to the tempatarure 770degree the magnetic properties is lost. the heated metal does not have the property of magnetism.
