I can't quite understand how after trying six years to have my daughter I am pregnant again with my second baby. It is such a blessing but I really don't understand it. We never even thought we would have our first angel. I hope those of you trying are able to have your little angels. I never want any of you to feel the heartache I did when we were trying to conceive.

my situation is actually the opposite. I had my now four year old son, not trying and carried him no problem. Now that we want another I can't get pregnant (TTC 3 years with 2 miscarriages). The dr explained it to me like this: pregnancy changes the state of your body in more ways then your size. It can alter things like cyst, hormone levels, and uterine habitability. For many this works wonderful, for some it makes things harder. Congrats on the little ones. I am hoping I too will end up with a surprise after my next darling.
p.s my sis in law did much the same as I (first no problems, second a struggle) and she has a 3rd only 1 year younger than the one she fought so hard for. While science might be able to name the hormones and what happens, the true miracle is still beyond explanation.

Yeah it is weird isn't it. Woman have a fertile window (well most do) after giving birth making it easier to get pregnant. For most the window is 12 months but for some it is more like 24 months. I tried for 6 years and finally got pregnant with my now 5 year old. I figured when I started trying for number 2 that it would take awhile but instead I got pregnant on the first try when my first son was 18 months old. But now my youngest is 2 1/2 years old and my body is starting to act like it did before my first pregnancy.

I would best try to explain it that a pregnancy messes with your hormons so much that your hormonal system gets a jolt and has to sort of reboot itself.

We too took several years to get pregnant without ever having a positive pregnancy test. But after our first son came, it was followed by 3 miscarriages (we sort of traded one fertility issue for another one).

Your body is still kind of set up from the last pregnancy and still has hormones from it too. Also the pregnancy maybe jump started your fertility. I know you aren't complaining but don't look a gift horse. Congrats.
Good luck.
