You possess something so special that if more did, the world would be a better place for it -- Vision. You see it, most don't. But some do! And that's a good thing, because this way, you know you are not alone!
We are all here for a relatively short time, some just slightly more than others. You are not the only one who is going to die. We all are. Some just do not see it yet, or think about it. Pehaps because their life, so far, has been like their version of Disneyland, and there is nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't give them the resourcefulness to know one's self.
So you are unique in this way. You have had moments, days, perhaps long personal sessions with loved ones and/or professionals, to contemplate your own life & death, both openly, then privately.
Notice I say "life" & death. Our death is just the final moment, the conclusion to our life. That makes the ending just one brief moment, one little aspect of life.
If Life is like a book, then it is a thick volume, with hundreds of chapters, some brief, some long, and death is but one sentence.
It's one's Life that contains all the experiences, both joys and tragedies, too numerous to detail in full, that really matters. It's just too bad life is so brief! For all of us!
In the meantime, (who thought of that phrase?) life is so perplexingly multi-faceted, so full of little mysteries!
I would guess that you have the unique perspective to notice the little things that are actually so significant. It's all about the little things, I always say! Like nature's little repetitive cycles: the insects, the plants, the trees, the seasons. I personally think the wonders of Nature are best seen through a child's eyes.
So, to answer your question, I would write a book, or at least write everything down that i thought was important. Someone, sometime, eventually, will also see the importance of your words.
And~ to give you my answer (and perspective) on what I think is your REAL question here, knowing what you know, I would live my life free of trying to prevent what will ultimately happen anyway. Shifts the focus on what is really important - Life.
It's your life that will actually inspire others.
That makes the ending just a very small part, in comparison.

Actually, I feel as if you could better tell me how to handle my life, rather than the other way 'round. I told some people I was gonna call 'em around noon-ish today, but some things are more important. But I'm still gonna call 'em, though....
Thank you for something I needed.

We all are going to die at some point, but if you have an illness and there is something that you can do to prolong your life than you should do it!! Live life to the fullest and make the most of the life that you have!! Everyone should do that because we never know how long that we have here!!

If it was preventable then I would work on it. But say if chemo only gave me a 20% chance of recovery, I wouldn't do it. I've seen too many people wiped out by chemo. I'd rather travel the world with family and friends, then go sky-diving (when I know the end has come) and just "forget" to pull the string.

My mother died of cancer many years ago. She new she was dying and let her self be used fo experimentation. This was very very hard on us as her children. But I have nothing but the utmost respect and love for that lady. Life is hard on us the healthy and when life is to end and one knows it prior it must be extremely difficult. I do feel for you and your situation. But you have to make the desisions about your life for you. If disease can be fixed definatly fix, unless you feel quality of life may not be what you want. But do not let some one else tell you go with what is in your heart and your head. I do not know what you are afflicted with but you have to decide for your self.
