Our parents and grandparents have done it all. They've lived through the times of war, poverty, corruption.. They went through hard times, and were part of rebellions and protests.. They've immigrated to America so that their children wouldnt have to suffer like they did..

Our elders have lived.
I mean, truly lived!! They shed blood sweat and tears, all to give us the life they never had.

Now, we live in comfort.
..In boring comfort. Taking for granted all they've been through.

They fought the wars.
They've kept starvation away from us.
They gave us the oppurtunity to further our oppurtunities..

They've done it all.
..and now theres nothing that we can do.

Theres nothing we can do to truly live anymore..

..do you think this is true?

"They've immigrated to America..."

Mine didn't.

What do I do?

Eurpopean ancestors killed my ancestor's culture. The Europeans came and my ancestors died. What can I do? The Great American Empire doesn't even recognize many of the nations it destoryed. The cultural genocide this great country of ours committed seems to have been forgotten in our great speeches of democracy and spread of freedom through the world. Let's go kill more and in other parts of the world now and use more excuses.

And what are we to do?

We CAN live. We do have something to do.

We don't have to sit by as it all happens again. Our government doesn't need to destroy anymore. Protest them! Promote life! This is how we can truly live! Our time is now! We can change our time. People are dying today and we can change it. Just because our government is killing doesn't mean we can't stop them.

We have a voice. Let's use it.

No, not at all. In case you hadn't noticed, we're about to become a space-faring race. There are all manner of things that need to be done to make that happen.

Every 24 hours somewhere between 25,000 and 35,000 (depending on whose numbers you believe) children under the age of 10 years die from things such as malnutrition, simple diseases, or exposure. Think that might be worth doing something about?

AIDS isn't the only nasty disease out there. There are lots of others that are even worse (such as Ebola, etc.) Maybe you'd like to get involved with biological research?

There are all manner of things that the World needs. All you have to do is look around and identify the one in which you think that you might make a difference. Then go for it.

....no there is so much we can do! First off teach our children about the past, teach our children how to grow food if such times should ever come again, one great wind, one too many great storms and we are back there again, teach them to be open to change, to give change a chance, to know that the mountains were here before any of us,and the rivers at one time held more salmon then anyone wanted....to know the earth will not be destroyed but those destroying it will perish

Are you sure there is nothing we can do?How about we stop offending God.Did you know that God and the Devil conversed, and the Devil said that people believe in God only when life is good for them.when things turn bad, they cease to believe in God. The people blame God for acts as if he does not exist.God therefore, allowed the Devil one century in which to exercise an extended power over the world, and the Devil chose the twentieth century.Today ,as we can see all around us,everyone is dissatisfied, they cannot abide each other.Examples are the number of divorces, and abortions, which are the work of the Devil

There is so much that we can do. They only lived threw events. They brought us here so we have to prove it to ourselfs that we can make what we have of ourselfs. We learn and get educated then we all get ideas of stuff which leads to inventions, art, philosophies, sports, music. To truly live is different to everyone's point of view. Mine is to become acrobatic then branch off into Le Parkour. Once I do that, I can watch my kids evolve. (only my dream)
Like you said. They gave us the oppurtunity to further our oppurtunities. They believe we can find what we all are capable of and what we should be doing with our lives instead making this sluggish and lazy.

No not at all...there is so much we need to do. I mean each individual can only do so much. Pick your interest and start from there. Global warming, starving children, Constitutional rights getting destroyed, illness (physical, mental), traumatized children, government sanctioned torture, religious persecution in other countries (and sometimes religious discrimination in our own country.) Just do one thing for someone else's benefit...it will ultimately benefit you. (Remember, we're all in this together. If the ship goes down, it's not like half of it stays afloat.)
Namaste.

You can do a lot and you have to do a lot. Your ancestors had sacrificed their days for your days, and their achievements need to be maintained constantly with consistency. This needs much efforts, preserving what they have achieved. You struggle towards preserving their achievements, and transmitting the same to next generations, and training the next generation to continue preserving them. As a matter of fact, your work is much more challenging.

Start reading. You're an American? Lucky you. Your country is teetering on the brink of destruction, because eventually karma will pull Bush down, you with him. So look forward to all that fun-filled violence and horror coming your way. Because hey, who wants a peaceful existance anyway?
