I started my new job, and want to have the company transfer my pay check, directly in to my bank account. My boy friend said the credit agency can take money out, with out my permission (I do owe some money, but need a job to start paying them off) Is this true?

This is true only if they have sued you and won. The courts must give them permission to do what is known as "garnish wages". If you have not been sued, then they cannot do this.

Hope this helps. Get intense and pay these debts off!

While the transfer should be, and electronically is almost instantaneous, the banks generally take 10 business days for the transaction to be verified. It is a lot of "mumbo jumbo", but that is what the banks do. This is done such as to protect them from bad checks, transfers, as well as a chance to use your money for loans while the transfer is going on. Next time, use a money order. The money order will cost a bit more, but it is the same as being given straight cash.

The county has to file a wage garnishment against you in order to take money out of your earnings without your consent. Otherwise, pay your bill and pay it on time don't stop paying until you get a letter stating your debt has been satisified and you shouldn't have any further problems.

A collection agency can only attach your bank account if they went to court and got a judgment. Is this a credit card account that is in collections?

Go ahead and do the direct deposit. It is so much easier to have your paycheck in the bank

anyone you gave your checking account number to can take money out. Technically, and legally, they can't, but if you owe them, and they take it out. what are you going to do, sue them? "I owed them 2000$ and they took $2000 out of my account --- I want to sue them for.. ummmm.... "
