Take the case of Newport, (you can read it for yourself, but you might get sick... http://www.dailypress.com/news/dp-now-sexcrimeplea1004,0,5970685.story?coll=hr_tab01_layout

The judge allowed a plea deal to go thru that made it so a man who had 6 counts of indecent liberties with children (read: molestation) and would have gotten 45 years, got all 45 year SUSPENDED. That's right, he won't spend even a single day behind bars!

So what should we do about these? It's egregious, and it's been happening a lot. We've all heard about the cases in both Main and Ohio, how long can this go on?

I know its unfair but I believe that people who are placed in jobs of high trust such as Police, teachers,Doctors and so on should be treated more harshly when they abuse children or adults. After all there some professions which are going to be forever damaged by the perversions of others in those professions, and I also think that Judges should be made more accountable for the decisions they make when dealing with offenders who are a danger to the general public.
I guess we need more pressure to be put on our judges to ensure they treat not only the offenders but also the victims with more value. For the victims there is no releif either way because what has been done to them cannot be undone but for most victims the knowledge that their abuser has been given justice for the crime is usually enough.
its the same the world over, here in Australia there was a case where a woman who was raped was verbally ridiculed by the judge .
Lets hope that the court system will follow through if this man ever does abuse anyone else...problem is it shouldn't have to come to that in order to have him pay for his previous crimes why should another person have to be hurt for anything to happen to the offender?

i'm doubtful as to the rapist. Do you propose an grownup that rapes a infant, or a infant that rapes? If it fairly is an grownup, life in reformatory without probability of parole. reducing off genitals, beatings, gang-raping via inmates, all it is relaxing to the emotional component of such against the regulation; even with the shown fact that, it does not function justice in a merely society. as much as i've got faith i could % to castrate a infant-rapist myself, i don't % the state to do it. that could desire to place us in a classification with different international locations with whom i could extremely not be linked. If this is a infant, it may be counted on the youngster's age, yet despite the fact that the sentence, there must be some sort of application set as much as a minimum of attempt to rehabilitate the youngster.

I didn't read the story, but I'm confident that the guy's suspended sentence probably had more to do with overcrowded jails than not. Don't blame the judge, and don't just sit there typing on your keyboard and eating Cheetos--get out and do something about it. Vote.

God bless America!

Unfortunately, you have to become actively involved. Politcally involved. While I do vote, I also write letters to the newspapers and to congressmen & women. Look at MLK, Jr. - where did he strive to make the most change>> the political regime. If you don't like it, chances are, there is already an organized political group. Please tell me where my energy would be better spent?
