How much parts and labor included would it cost to replace a 2.5 ton central a/c unit? I would like a name brand unit. Price range please.

Thanks

If you have a dealer do it, it will cost about $3000. That would be for the basic model. For the higher efficiency units it will probably cost $5000 to $6000. To find the brand rankings you can go to the hvac ratings page at my source. Then you can shop around for the best deal.

I just ordered a 3 ton heat pump package unit with a 15 kw heater and new thermostat delivered to my home for $2100. Installed myself and saved about $1500. The local a/c guys were asking anywhere from $3600 to $4400. I ordered the unit from budget heat and air and it is a Goodman (Amana) unit with 10 year bumper to bumper. BTW, I live in Tennessee. As for Texas I would think that you should be able to get price quotes in the same range.
