Question

How can people like George Bush, the Condalezza Rice and so many other people call Islam the Religion of peace?? All over the world, where Islam comes in, persecution, war, violence, and hatred spreads. Just look at Somalia, Serbia, the ENTIRE MIDDLE EAST, the Indonesian area, England, France, even inside the United States of America. And some people say that these people are only the "radical Muslims", but if that is true, then almost all of the Muslims all around the world fall into under that label. It was even said by a Muslim (i forget his name), that not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims. I know that not all Muslims are the terrorist kind, and I know this isn't really a question, but....... what do you think?

i agree with you 100%. read the quran, hadith, ect. it's chocked full of violence and bigotry. there is nothing peaceful about this evil religion and we need to stop lying to ourselves about it, and SOON.

I think the only religion of peace is Buddhism and that has been shrinking for centuries (probably because of that). From the time of Mohammad on, though, Muslims have been particularly vicious in trying to annihilate all other religions. Christianity was all but extinguished by the sword in the Levant, Egypt, Anatolia, and North Africa and Christianity has answered in kind ever since. The same was done in the northern half of India vs Buddhism and Hinduism and in eastern Africa vs Christianity and animism. The religion teaches peace but only amongst fellow Muslims (although that, just like Christianity, this has been violated routinely). I doubt Bush/Rice believe that but part of governance is international public relations and honey often works better then sticks at getting a change in life style.

Not all terrrorists are Muslims. I once had an Air Force patient who had several of her limbs blown off in the Oktoberfest terror bombing in Munich. The ones who did that were German Marxists in the Beider-Meinhoff gang. A former Prime Minister of Italy was kidnapped and murdered by members of the Red Brigade. They were Italian Communists. I myself was the victim of a hijacking by members of the Seki-Gun-Ha, the same group which machine-gunned people at the airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. They were Japanese Communists. And don't dare preach the nonsense that all terrorists are Muslims to the loved ones of the children and adults who were killed due to the actions of Protestants and Catholics in Ulster.
The Muslims in Europe are looked upon as the "children of the colonies". Descended from the Muslims who lived in nations that were once colonies of the European powers. They have been marginalized and sealed off in government ghettoes for decades. Those nations in the Islamic world have draconian leaders who rule under the pretense of being ordained by God to do so. It is one of the chief reasons why so many Muslims have chosen to leave those regimes and emigrate to the United States.
In the U.S. they can be assimilated. They can live peacefully and give a better life for their children then they had for themselves. Even in my community there is a mosque which is bracketed on both sides by Christian churches and no one ever thinks that odd.
The Salafist Jihadists who make up the rank and file of Al Queda and similar organizations are the Ku Klux Klan of Islam. Just as I never held all Protestants in contempt for the actions of the KKK, I am not ready to condemn the billion-plus members of the Islamic Ummah for the actions of these deranged individuals.

No, I don't believe that all Muslims are terrorists, nor do I believe that all terrorists are Muslims. But I do believe that the groups currently inflicting terror on western countries are of Muslim decent or their followers. I don't blame the entire Muslim population or Islam for their actions. I feel it's the terrorists' evil interpretation of the Islamic religion that makes them do the things they do.

What a ridiculous and leading question. Since when have only conservatives like President Bush and Condaleeza Rice said Islam is the religion of peace? Islam itself says that! Anybody with half a brain knows that.

I agree that Islam calling itself a religion of peace is absurd, but that has nothing to do with Republicans and/or Democrats.

LTTE, IRA etc. are non-muslim terrorists. However you got a point there. It can also be explained in a different way. Many muslims are aggerssive, intolerant & seek violence as the first response to any situation, which is sad.

This is just me thinking and my opinion but I guess thats what they think about Islam though people who say what they fell about something though they've never experienced it really makes me wonder how they can call something one thing but not know it firsthand enough to experience it themselves but believe me I'm not saying they haven't experienced Islam but how CAN they call it a religion pf peace? thats what I think but I do agree with the comment at the bottom but keep in mind everyone has their own opinions and in America is entitled to them.

Most religions are violent & have extreme ways to make other convert. Just look up the Holy Crusades. & not all terrorists are Muslims. The IRA are Catholic!!...........
