They don't know any better and think its an easy way out of a situation, but really your just digging your own hole.

There are not too many reasons actually.
1) People lie to gain advantage, to elevate themselves, obtain wealth, to be lazy.
2) People lie to effect their view of justice, set things to rights using justification, to make the world in their view fair again, even to spare someone unpleasantness.
3) To conceal weakness, to not have to face something as in denial.

I don't know why people lie, I just wish they wouldn't. The end result is always painful.

cooler, than they think they are.
it's truly sad, who they'll even
go to extremes, changing themselves,
