i was wondering no poticular reason

They are certainly electric. Large Electric Eels can release enough electricity in one jolt to paralyze/kill fish and small rodents or give a fully grown human quite a shock (so much that it contracts muscles closest to the entry point). These electric discharges are usually greater than 500 volts.
