You could do a couple of things-- you could either get one of those water bottles that has the measurements on the side of the bottle (I have one that fills up to 32 oz) and measure how much water you're drinking that way. Or, you could just measure by the drinking glasses in your house. Most of the time, the largest, tallest glass fills up to 16 oz. So figure you'll need to drink 4 full glasses each day. Personally, I like the water bottle trick better. I fill mine twice a day, and drink it all. Try putting some sliced lemon in your water, too-- it helps to take away the chlorine taste, and just generally makes the water taste better. Good luck.

Actually if you drink 12 glasses one day you could drink 4 the next and then drink 8 the day after that. It really is more of an averaging thing. All that milk and juice counts too. I read somewhere once that if you drink 3 quarts of water a day you will not retain water (it worked fairly well). So I got a pint jar and I drank 2 jars full 3 times a day! Did it for a long time. Now I just naturally drink lots of water without thinking about it. Good luck! ;-))

I drink lots of water during the day, mainly because I live in a very humid country (but you should know that, eh Chara?) To ensure that I drink lots of water during the day I actually keep a large glass in the refridgerator. Whenever I get thirsty I simply go to the fridge, fill the glass to the brim and drink away. I'm sure I actually drink more than 8 glasses during the day because it's so hot most of the time! Of course, if you live in a colder climate you will have to drink less because you're not sweating as much and losing so much moisture.

I think recent studies have shown that you don't really need 8 full glasses of water a day. If you are drinking milk and juice, plus plenty of water, you aren't shorting yourself on hydration.
But, if you want to drink more water than you already do, just always have water with you. If you sit at a desk often, always have a bottle there and carry one in your purse (they have little ones that are lighter & take up less space). Keep a bottle or glass of water next to your bed. Make it a habit.

I keep a huge bottle with me all day and I just keep filling it with filtered ICE water, I have heard ice water isn't as good for you for some reason, but it is the only way I can drink it. I manage to drink about 180oz of water a day.

dont try to drink that much water in one single day because it's nearly impossible without having to pee every two minutes. i think that's just the doctors' way of getting people to drink a lot of water. i dont think you NEED 8 glasses of water a day. that's too hard to keep up with.

I have a 16 oz bottle every day, and I fill it up at least 4 times during the day. to keep track, I put a piece of tape on it every thime I refill it. 4 pieces of tape = 8 glasses of water or 64 oz.
