... 10 being perfect. I,personally would give them a 10. They are doing a fabulous job, especailly with minimal, but ye comercial advertising. I, love how they break for studio in-game coverage. TBS inagural MLB playoffs, surpass ESPN's history by far. What do you think?

The announcing is as expected. The scheduling is great. FOX, only had either LCS, or World Series.

I've always disliked Joe Buck, Tim McCarver, and Jeanie Zelasko. They put me to sleep and never really have anything inciteful to say. Zelasko is just plain annoying. I like when there are players talking about the game because they can tell us fans about things we just can not see. I really like when a hall of famer or a pitcher is in the broadcast both because you know that they know what they are talking about. Since Gwynn and Ripken know just about everything about the game I would much rather listen to them then Joe Buck. As far as TBS is concerned, I ususally rate it like this-if I can not notice the broadcasters saying stupid things or pissing me off then you are doing a good job. I give them a 9. Good work.

Graphics - 6
Not Having Fox's Damn Sound Effects - 10
Shot Selection - 8 -- I'm really enjoying the variety of camera angles, being employed well.
Super Zoom-in Facial Shots - 2 (I hate those; a few, sure, but I wanna see the GAME)
Announcers - 6, and I think I'm being kind because the AL crews seemed to approach mild cluefulness, and I haven't paid much attention to the NL crews, so this could go down.
Replay Production - 8 -- generally getting to the worth-watching-again shots quickly and not wasting time with the "well, we just can't tell" crap.
Not Missing The First Pitch After The Commercials - 7
Overall - 6.5 -- could be better, could be a lot worse. I'd prefer ESPN's production if we could bypass Berman, Morgan, and Miller; better than Fox will ever be; about par with what CBS did in its few years of holding the national contract 1990-93 or so (not good, but satisfactory). Given the advances in technology, and that all the old, REALLY professional guys are retired, it's hard to compare to NBC pre-1990, but probably not quite up to the level the Peacock gave us way back when. TBS is doing, eh, okay; all those years of covering the Braves brought it some worthwhile talents and tricks.

2. Mostly awful announcers. Dick Stockton doesn't know where he is half of the time and Ron Darling adds NOTHING. Chip Caray is just as bad as I remember him from his days with the Cubs. Expect him to get the Joe Buck sized ego as time goes on. And does baseball really need sideline reporters? Craig Sieger should be thrown out of the stadium for distracting the hitter with his ugly suits. The studio coverage is not bad, but kind of bland. I like Cal Ripken, but he doesn't offer much analysis other than "this pitcher throws hard" or "playing here can be difficult" type stuff. Oh, and not making the TBS broadcasts available on local TV (ie. over WGN in Chicago) and many problems with HD take them down a point too!
Keep in mind this is not a comparative rating. I would give FOX a 2 and ESPN a 3. Maybe TBS can rise a few numbers as this is their first ever playoffs. But so far I wouldn't say it was anything memorable.

You shouldn't be impressed with the minimal advertisements. Baseball is normally like that, commercials don't last long because it doesn't take long for the players to get ready for the next half inning. But TBS is notorious for having about 5-6 commercials in a 30 minute show.
As for the TBS coverage, I give it an 8, I dont see any visible flaws with their work, and seeing MLB players in the studio giving thier opinion now and again keeps me glued onto the screen.

I do not listen to their sportscasters(TBS). They are too biased to New York. Actually I turn the sound down and listen to the local radio broadcast. Your right ESPN'S coverage anymore is not about the sport but more about the drama that surrounds it instead. So I guess I give TBS a 0. Today was 10th anniversy of the Indians beating the Yankees in the playoffs with M. Rivera on the mound. TBS made no mention of this feat (It still is Rivera's only defeat in the playoffs).

Any coverage with no Jeannie Zelasko or Joe Buck gets a perfect 10 from me.

7.5. The commentating is rather boring at times, but the in studio coverage with Cal Ripken is fantastic.
I still wish FOX had the whole thing.

Overall 6.5 . They are ok, on some things, horrid on others. Not too bad for their first time with the big show.
