What do you think of Hillary Clinton? I hate that she is pro abortion which is murder. I also think she will ruin the country by taking the troops out of iraq. Because iraq is still not stable and if we leave, one of saddams brothers or someone will take over their country and our country will be in danger of an attack. I might have to move to Canada if she becomes president. What is your opinion?

There was an interesting opinion piece in The Economist which basically says that, at this point in the race (which is very early and anything can happen) that Hillary is the most likely Democratic candidate, by far. Furthermore because the Republicans are so low in public opinion and in some disarray right now, she has a more than excellent change of going all the way the the White House. All of this *in spite* of the fact that she scores very highly as a generally disliked person, which is reflected in many of the comments here. The Economist is an interesting read because it gives a perspective from outside the US (it's a Britishi publication). It's unlikely you will read such an opinion in, say USA Today, because American publications have to try to appear to be more balanced in their opinions.

In any case, in very sharp contrast to George Bush, Hillary Clinton seems to be a very competent manager who to learns from her mistakes, and that is a big part of her public perception. People are really sick of the total mess that W. has made of the economy (turning a large surplus coming into office into the present huge deficit) and everything else he as touched and they are hoping to get someone in power that can think logically. Plus they want to kick some Republican butt over Iraq.

My personal opinion is that Hillary will probably make a pretty fair president, although I am not expecting anything spectacular. Given the elitist yuppy-ism that she and Bill project, which makes a lot of people grind their teeth, she must deliver a very well-run administration, accomplish a few solid goals and avoid any fruther scandals if she has any hope of gaining a second term. She won't be a direct boost for feminism, but she will shatter the highest glass ceiling of them all, and that will probably be good for woman moving into other positions of power in both the public and corporate sectors.

A final comment: I really have to smile at your comment that you feel that Hillary could "ruin the country" by taking the US *out* of Iraq. Consider the amount of money that has been literally burned there, and the huge plunge that the USA has taken in its political and military credibility around the world, and then let's chat about who is "ruining the country".

Also, it is totally laughable to think that Iraq is ever going to be in some sort of position to attack the United States, if it ever was in such a position. The only thing that has increased the likelihood of another terrorist attack on the USA is the presence of US troops in Iraq. And if that happens it won't be Iraq funding such an attack, it'll be Saudia Arabia or Iran, so what are we doing in Iraq?

First, I think Iraq will never be stable as long as we are there because many of those we expect to be able to take over protection of their country are also members of the groups trying to tear it down, as I saw reported one night on Canadian television. I think the time for a woman president is close and perhaps now given that so many women are in positions of authority in so many other nations around the world.
the news we get on television and radio are often slanted to promote the views of the new networks but often omit news which is either important and/or should be offered to the American public so we really can not tell how stable or unstable Iraq actually is.
A good example of news not reported is the fact that so many states have at least a few citizens seeking to leave the United States but I have not seen anything on any news report about that.- Put state secession into your search engine and be amazed - so whoever is elected will have a big job bringing the country back together and perhaps it is time to have a female perspective on how to solve those problems.

I dont know if I really like any of the candidates on either ticket so far. And for the war deal, I think Hillary has said within this last week she wont guarantee anything on pulling all troops, at least not until 2013. The abortion deal...yeah well I dont exactly like it either but I can understand some women might wanna have one for various reasons I guess...that should be up to them to decide. All in all, I dont think it matters who becomes the next president because none of them end up doing what they say they will anyway. When it comes to national security, it wont matter what political party the next president belongs to, its gonna remain top priority these days. Even though many on Answers will say it wont. It will.

Every thing points toward her getting elected. But I can promise you that if anyone can mess up this chance it is the Democratic party. They were terrible campaigners in 2004, 2000, 1988, 1984 and 1980.

She will be the best president we've had for 8 years.
The Repulicants are all criminals, how many of bushes people are left? Not many.
We should have never went to Iraq.
bush is responsible for more American deaths than Saddam and Osama put together.
She will be good.

I am a democrat, but I am not a socialist or liberal.
I will not vote for a person who supports socialist goals for our country. I do not believe someone OWES someone else "on principle".
I also will never vote for anyone who calls other representatives names (commenting on their behavior and goals is another matter), or who treats our representatives as "guilty until proved innocent", or spreads unfounded rumors about them.

Our President, Bill Clinton, went through all of those, and I fought it then.

Our President, George Bush, is going through all of those now, and being a man of ethics i speak up just as much against political bigotry now.

I will not speak ill of Senator and former First Lady Clinton, as her service to our country deserves respect.

I choose who I vote for, however.

I choose not to vote for her.

Lets just hope she doesn't become President. As for Iraq it would be better off with Hussein in charge. Yes he was one vile evil man. But look at Iraq now. Lot of want to be Husseins running around killing trying to be the new head snake. Life was better when the snake we knew was in charge.

Yeah, I don't relish the prospect of having a socialist as president. If she is elected I am leaving the country.
