Healthy treats... like animal crackers, granola bars, juice boxes (100% fruit juice), stickers, Fruit snacks, toothbrush and or floss (hehe), play tattoos, applesauce or jello cups, Cheese and cracker packages, sugar-free gum, balloons, Packages of instant cocoa mix, popcorn, packaged muffins, and rice krispies treats.

You will be giving the children healthy treats and yourself as well...Seeing how you will probably have left overs you may want to snack on. =)

My sons have come home with somethings other then candy and chips these past few years, they have recieved juices, the pouches of capri sun, or juice boxes. Cans of soda, pencils and erasers, yo yos, pennies, and coloring books! Pretty neat. If you have a dollar store near by you can pick up coloring books for about 25 cents a piece, which comes out cheaper compared to candy, and if you get some older kids just give out the pencils, the ones with the designs you can get them cheap too! Saves dentist trips for the parents!

I tell you what, when I went trick or treat (back in the 70's) I wanted candy. No apples, no gift certificates. So I don't know what you can give....has halloween changed since I was a kid? Lol

Small water bottles - they are a hit every year at my house - all the kids get so thirsty running and screaming I just get the mini bottles (6oz) they usually are 50 to a flat and I go through 5 flats -same price as candy and the kids really appreciate it!

Bags of fruit such as apples, oranges, grapes or kiwi, but something cheap and simple and make sure you put different fruits in each bag so they all don't get the same kinds of fruit since fruit is supposed to be nutricious all year long - candy isn't nutricious.

Mcdonalds sells gift certificates for just a dollar for like 15 of them. It is good for free icecream or cookies or french fries. Things like that. That is a little original. Kids in my family like getting those.

You can go to one of those party stores and get little toys they put in like pinatas and give out little toys and stickers. All kids like little crappy toys.

Where I live you can buy donut coupon books at Albertson's or food coupons from McDonald's. I would give them a coupon. Depends of course on how old the child looks.
