my doctor told me it was OK to give my daughter apple juice when she was 2 weeks old, so I'm sure it's fine at 2 months. just give your child baby apple juice, like Gerber, because it has the right amount of sugar and vitamins. i only give it to my daughter when she is constipated, and just an ounce or two works wonders. people say to use Karo syrup as well, but it never worked for my daughter, and the apple juice always worked within an hour or two. just don't give your baby too much because it can cause diarrhea. good luck!! oh, and giving your baby apple juice DOES NOT lead to obesity!! allowing your child to gorge on food and drinks leads to obesity. apple juice will not harm your baby if you are giving him just a little bit to stop constipation. and the studies where they say giving your baby juice takes away other vitamins, are studies where babies are getting more juice than anything else. use common sense, you are a parent, you know what's right and what's wrong.

There is no need for juice at this age unless your baby has SEVERE constipation, and in that case you should consult with your physician first. A two-month-old's digestive system is not mature enough to handle juice. There are tiny holes throughout the tract and the juice could enter the bloodstream and be seen as foreign, thus creating an allergy.. At two months your baby should rely solely on breastmilk or formula. Two ounces of baby juice diluted with two ounces of water ONCE for constipation might sit well with some babies, not all... but consult your doctor before giving anything other than infant formula or breastmilk. Congrats on the new baby and good luck!

NO!
If the baby is on formula, you can introduce fruit juice after 6 months. Then, no more than 3 ounces/day and it should be at least half water - preferably 75% water. Make sure there are no sugars or high fructose corn syrup added - in other words, make sure it is pure 100% juice that you are starting with before you dilute it.
And you should use a sippy cup for the juice instead of a bottle so the baby does not start refusing formula.
Apple juice can cause diarrhea and rob your baby of vital nutrients.
Fruit juice is completely unnecessary for infants, and leads to obesity.

Consider this, when a baby is this young anything but Mamma's milk takes nutrients away. If you decide on formula that is your choice, but to go with any kind of juice at this age is just plain irresponsible. You are now offering what translates to the baby as an entire feeding that has no nutritional value what so ever. Do you really want to fill your precious little one up with nothing? I imagine you love your child and want to do what is best. If this is true than please don't feed your baby anything other than breast milk or formula. Most all of the facts concerning the downside of this practice (giving juice to an infant) that have been posted are true. Please head the warnings.

Until a baby is 4-6 months old, the only thing they need is formula or breast milk. Juice is recommended for older babies about 7-8 months old. A good suggestion is to mix juice 1/2 and 1/2 with water and offer it in a sippy cup with a limit of 4-6 ounces per day. Even 100% fruit juice contains a lot of sugar (even though it is natural sugar and not added sugar) and will fill up a tiny tummy. Too much juice can interfere with consumption of enough solids and breast milk (or formula). For right now, stick with only breast milk or formula for your baby.

Definately not!
A 2 month old infant should only have formula or breast milk.
Even when your baby is older you should avoid high sugar drinks - (juice is considered to be a high sugar drink). It is okay to have some juice when they are older but it should be limited. High sugar drinks are a big contribuor to tooth decay and obesity in an individual.

You really shouldn't, not this early. There's no reason for juice at this age, the only exception is if they're hideously constipated, and then just 2 oz of prune or pear juice ONCE to get them going. They shouldn't have juice until 6 months or so, then just 4-6 oz a day because of the high sugar content and basically empty calories. At 2 months the only thing your baby should be drinking is breastmilk or formula.

no no no no no.
Most pediatricians recommend waiting til at least 6 months. My pediatrician suggested waiting until 10 months, because immature digestive systems can get diarrhea from juice. I ended up caving and giving him juice at 8 months. Most doesn't bother him, but even still at 10 months, pear juice makes him poo something awful.
Anyway, please wait at least 4 more months.

There is no need for juice at this age, breast milk or formula is all they need. And apple juice will normally cause diarrhea at this age. I still dilute apple juice for my two year old.

No, you shouldn't give a 2 month old juice. If you want a professional answer, call your doctor and ask. I am sure they will tell you no, not to do that.
You can give your baby juice around 7 or 8 months and water it down.
