Well, I don't think this is who you mean, but Bob Dylan has performed live with The White Stripes, which I'd say is a pretty firm endorsement.

I also think he said he thought Jimi Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower" was better than his own, and I'm almost sure Elvis covered one of his songs (don't know which one though) which he said he liked.

The Band?

I mean The Band, with Robbie Robertson who sang the Dylan song "I Shall Be Released", as well as "Cripple Creek" and "The Weight". The Band that had no name (or were possibly called "The Hawks") when the accompanied Dylan on his first electric tour, but when they "went solo" they just called themselves "The Band".

And their final concert was filmed and released as "The Last Waltz" and featured Dylan.
