No. A money order is a check written on your behalf by a company that you give cash to. Western Union is one of the more well know companies, but there are hundreds of others.

Never send cash in the mail. Go to the post office and get a money order. They will help you make it out if you don't know how. You pay them for the amount of the money order. The person your sending it to can cash it at the post office to get their money.

Even if it arrives, there is no guarantee you'll get credit.
Go to a Bank, or the Post Office, or a cheque-cashing place.
The difference is you pay in advance for a Money Order.

I would only send cash if I didn't mind losing it. I have sent small amounts of money, like below $20.00. If it's for a prison or a jail, EVERYTHING is rule-bound for the safety of the prisoners and guards. Twenty dollars can get someone killed. All mail is opened and that money will not get there. Call around. You can find money orders pretty cheap. Save your receipt. If it doesn't get there, you can get another copy.

You can go to the bank to the post office or in some cases walmart and just ask for a money order They do have a small charge for it but most of the time it is less then a doller

No you go to a bank (or some stores) and you give the bank the money and they give you a piece of paper that is then worth however much you gave the bank.

we go to postoffice to fill up a form showing payer and payees name and addresses alongwith amount to be sent.
we pay net amount to be sent at the counter with that form
plus nominal charges. The form goes to destination by post. postman of destination carries amount and gives to the payee.

No, it is kind of like a check. You can go to most grocery stores or convenience stores and they will sell you one for less than $1.00. Keep the stub so that you have proof of the amount you sent.
