I'm planning my daughter's 6th birthday, and she has decided she wants to go jungle animals. We are making the invitations and the banners, we have clip art that we are using and I would like to make the napkins and stuff the same way. I'm not a crafty person, so I have no idea. Help please on how I can bring these things into the theme I'm using. Thanks

Yes,For the PLATE,these can be washed off in soap and water after the party or given to each child to take home.
Use any acrylic paint, like paint by # paints or acrylic tole paint you can find both now in any of the $ stores. They also carry stentsils for kids. paint them in with a stencil brush, or trace the stencil out and paint with brush or Qtip , It can be what the kids do themselves at the party, but do it first, give it time to dry, if you want it to be a keepsake for each guest YOU spray or varnish with acrylic finish. It all dries quite quick. Now for the NAPKIN, you better do this alone. Just trace out the same stencils lightly with a pencil, use markers to paint in, they may seep, so you might want to slide paper inbetween layers. They would be lovely if you could paint your outline with a painters liner brush.Just have fun, it could be a girlfriend night, call someone to share the fun!U need to load the brush with paint, don't go any higher than 3/4" up on the bristles, use cold water and paper towel or a rag as you work, load the brush , then roll the brush on wax paper, or a stryoform meat tray. Hold the brush straight up and start the outline, handle the brush like you would write, you'll be amazed at how well you do.

You could print out your clip art pictures on card stock or photo paper, then cut the paper out so the picture is at the centre of a strip. Wrap the strip around a rolled up napkin and staple it together like a napkin ring. You could also do a similar thing for straws, where you cut the picture out and then snip a couple of little slits for the straw to poke through ... voila, jungle straws. And the kids will have an easier time remembering which drink was theirs, too, if every straw has a different picture.

We've made jungle animal masks out of paper plates, where you cut out eye holes, and the kids draw an animal face on and then glue decorations on (like wool for a lion's mane). You punch a hole on either side of the animal's face and tie string through the holes to tie the mask around the kid's head. Wouldn't want to eat off those plates, of course, but you could let them draw animal faces on plates with non toxic markers, or even just draw all over the bottom of the plate instead of the eating surface.

The rubber stamp idea is great--you can also buy those "zoo pals" plates. They are paper plates that are shapes like animals, they are so cool! You can get them at any grocery store where the paper plates are. You could also draw vines as a border on the napkins with non-toxic acrylic paint pens.
