I've never really seen Australia as a developing country but maybe:

* Established Democracy
* Established Infrastructure
* Diverse and Multicultural
* Strong ties with both England and the US
* English as a primary language
* Really hinges on the democracy thing but we do have a government that isn't as corrupt as governments like India and they're democratic too.
* High tax levels - the tax pays for future infrastructure
* Relaxed attitude :)
