Tough question isn't it! Of course, maybe the bills are marked. Serial numbers recorded somewhere as the money was part of a bank heist. You spend a twenty, someone compares the number to a list and you wind up arrested in connection with a bank job and shootout in which two people were killed! At which point you'll try to convince the FBI that you just sort of found the money?
Or maybe the bills are covered with microscopic amounts of heroin. Explain that one too!
Now, if I've convinced you to get rid of it, let me give you my address....

Nope..... I say keep it. I would watch the news and such for a while to see if it was missing. Then spend it here and there. If the Secret Service came by (they handle the money thing) I would just say I found it. A normal citizen is not going to be linked to a robbery...... try proving that in court.

$65K found by someone who lives on less than $7,644 a year?
And you ask ME, if I would return it?
Mmm...
Probably not.
Not said out of selfishness, but $65 grand goes a long way in my book. I could do a lot of good with it--and not just for me.
I'd use a small portion and give the rest to someone who needs it worse than I do.

I probably would because it belongs to someone else, even though I could certainly use it. Perhaps whoever lost it needs it as badly as I do and I can imagine how I would feel if it were mine and I'd lost it.

Turn it in. Usually after so much time goes by, the money would be mine if the owner never claimed it.

Depends on what kind of bag it's in
Haha, no joke
if it looks like drug money (check bills for cocaine residue, an old trick I learned)
then I'd keep it
If it's in like a purse or suitcase, I'd definitely return it

Yes, because what kind of example would I be setting for my son? I tell him not to take things that aren't his, so how would I be able to look him in the eye?

Hmmmm... probably not. Of course, I'd like to think I'm honest, but the truth of the matter is that I sure could use money like that.
