I can't even remember when was the last time that India defeated Australia in a 50 over match. For a very long time, India keeps losing repeatedly to Australia, whether the game is at home or abroad. If India could beat Australia in 20/20, why 50/50 seems such a difficult task?

Australia is a professional team. India never developed a professional cricket team. The cricketers either interested in their personal records or endorsements. They never bothered for country. The cricket managemnt much interested in their politics.
Despite of all these things India fared well against Australia.
best of Luck team India

Twenty/20 and 50 overs matches are of entirely different format. In T20 matches since thee are only 20 overs, batsmen can afford to hit out and score fast, whereas since they have to play 50 overs you should have wickets in hand till the 50 overs and as such cannot afford to start hitting from thje word go. In T20 match even if a side loose 3 or 4 wickets by 10th over, still they can manage to post a decent score, whereas in 50 overs match that is not possible.

Australia are undoubtedly the best and the most ODI team in world cricket today and while it mahy be possible for any team to beat them once in a while, it will not be possible for any team to beat them consistently.

Unless and untill india doesn't bowl good at the slog overs , india would continue losing matches to australia in a 50 over match. And three big trios along with yuvi should also get important runs to get a victory over aussies.

BECAUSE 20/20 IS RUBBISH and has alot more to do with luck than skill like the longer versions of the game, test cricket being the ultimate test of a good or bad cricket team, that's why some of the lower nations can play 20/20 and odi's but are not given test status-because over a longer game they would be smashed into oblivion

luck played an important factor in India's win against Australia in t20.but in a 50 overs match the Indian team should really play well in all aspects to defeat Australia
