Sign that the world is coming to an end. Their was some good music in the 80s, like Anita Baker, Stephanie Mills, Journey, Foreigner, and others, but the last decade of great music ended with 70s.

that, my friend, is your opinion. the fact is, that many share it, and i personally am not to fond of britney or soulja boy or many of the other seemingly mindless pop music out there, but you must realize that:
1. there is still quite a bit of really good music out there
2. what you and i don't like could be good for reasons that we don't recognize because it's not our personel preferance
3. music has no boundries. it's soul purpose is to effect the emotions, which it does. it can be about anything, and as long as the notes flow, it can sound like anything
4. everyone's opinion is different, so you and i can not necessarily make that kind of a judgement call
i try to remain open minded. the only stuff i can't stand is the music where they scream from beginning to end, and even then i admit that the backing band is often good.

People are lazy, they just listen to whaever is fed to them by mass media
They don't want to think much either, they just like short catchy songs that don't require thinking and CEOs of record companies see this so they spend more money promoting more new bad music and the people listen to that causthat's what is fed to them and it's an endless cycle.

because society tells them that thats the cool music. they do want to be a clone like everyone else now. now most young people dont care for the music I like. I like a lot of 70s and 80s rock. I guess to each their own. dont let it bother you. no one said that you cant be an induvidual and like the music that you like.

Don't listen to Vegetarian Girl. I think she is hungry. I've stopped listening to the radio because of all the crap that is on there. I don't know what I would do without my ipod.

It is very very sad. People seem to be getting stupider and stupider and forgetting what music really is.
