To felasioo--had you read further down the page on wikipedia, you would have seen that softball_chick_16 is right, too. A maure is not only a symbol for an African head, but it is also the flag or Emblem of the AUF (or African Unification Front) , whose aim is to promote the political, social, and economic union of Africa.
Maure also has Phoenician and Greek origins, and refers to "Moors"--the Muslims of Islamic Spain and North Africa who were of Arab or Berber descent.
