Almost, Ramadan ends Friday Oct 13th then Eid al-Fitr starts a day later.

At Eid al-Fitr people dress in their finest clothes, adorn their homes with lights and decorations, give treats to children, and enjoy visits with friends and family.

A sense of generosity and gratitude colors these festivities. Although charity and good deeds are always important in Islam, they have special significance at the end of Ramadan. As the month draws to a close, Muslims are obligated to share their blessings by feeding the poor and making contributions to mosques.

Depending on the Lunar calander, Ramadan will either end of 12th or 13th October, most believe it will fall on a Saturday ( 13th). Ramadan reaches its climax in the last ten days where blessings are higher. Peoples' devotion is more emotional and attentive.

Usually on the last night of Ramadan, after the last prayer of the evening, people waits for the offical announcement if there is another fasting day or if it will be Eid ( Ramadan can be 29 or 30 days -depending on Lunar calender- but not more than 30 )

If it is Eid next day, people prepare their houses, scent the house and their clothes , make henna preparations and special Eid meals for the next day. The day will start very early with the Eid prayers starting around estimated time 7am . Everyone dresses up and greets each other for Eid, either through visits, calls or now and days texts too! Children get their Ediya ( a little extra pocket money from family and friends. Special meals are made for the morning and lunch. Meals are sent to neighbours ( as in Ramadan). Visits are made to family, friends, and neighbours. Some people go on outings to the gardens or another part of the city. The holiday usually last for three days.
