Don't sire another child! or you might end up with 100% of your paycheck going to child support!

Are you behind on child support? I know in Louisiana they can only take a certain percent out & it is sure not 60%. But it is differant in differant states. That is alot though. Good luck on trying to live & pay your bills!!! But I would check into it if I were you.

I worked in the Payroll field in Michigan. The best thing for you to do would be to present the check to the Payroll department of your employer and explain the situation. If they do not take steps to correct the over-garnishment, i.e. issuing another check or reducing your next check's garnishment, notify the Friend of the Court in the County where your Order is from.

You didn't say if this was the original amount or if you are also paying arrears. I have not seen that high of a percentage ordered in court. That said, I think people here are answering without knowing all the facts.

Go to court and ask for a reduction because you are having a hard time making ends meet.

Assuming you have a positive paternity test, you can... pay! Or take it to court and get it reduced... that's about it... Oh wait... you can quit your job, work under the table or change jobs every time they track you down...
