Um sorry have to stop you after WWII.

Had that WWI not happened then the bolshevics would NOT have overthrown the Czar more than likely and the Soviet Union may never had existed and they hence may not have tried to take Finland or expand at all!

BUT say they did anyways for your arguement I wonder, ALL were Monarchys except Russia and new alliances and pacts may have been created so stop the spread of bolshevism, Churchill hated it!

so yes I think that Germany, England and Austria Hungary would have attacked soviet russia had they tried to invade poland. I am not sure about the Ottomans what they would have done, they had allegiences with Austria and Germany so all might have attacked and Russia woud have had no chance and the China and Korea would never had become communist.

It would be a very far differant world we live in had WWI and WWII not happened. Would we even have the atomic bomb? or many other things like PC's we take for granted now?

Cool question.

"Most likely no WW2."

Noooooo, really? You mean without a 1 there wouldn't be a 2?

"The soviet union still would have tried to take Finland and Poland."

There would be no Soviet Union.

"Would Germany and Austria-Hungary have attacked the soviet union to protect poland."

There was no Poland after 1795 until Versailles/Saint-Germain created it after WWI.

"Would finland and Great Britain help germany by attacking with them?"

What the hell?

There would have been no Soviet Union. Lenin was living in Germany, and the Germans sent him to Europe to get Russia out of WWI.

There would have been no UK-sponsored rebellion against the Ottoman Empire, so the Middle East would have been very different.

There would have been no Balfour Declaration--which could mean no Israel.

The entire world would be very different from our own.

it really was inevitable.

at the time there was a lot of tension as most of europe was empires (5-6 of em)

Some small countries wanted independence (like Serbia) and they had support of Russia, France, britian), so when the assasination happened, it was like the icing on the cake.

World War 1 was really a colony war. Empire vs Empire. The United States realyl saved the day stepping in and a lot of people seem to forget that.

When we finally entered the war, France and England were losing. The german naval blockade on England was starving them and supplies were not geting to the front fast enough.

In fact it is said that if the United States had not stpped in, France would have fallen and britian would have seeked peace within a month.

One of my favorite quotes from that time was between two british who on the eve of war were talking and one said

"The lights are going out all across europe. We shall not see them light again in our time"

this had a lot of impact.

Wars in general should never really happen.. a peaceful resolution should be choice above all else... however,.. with major mobilization.... and rumors of war amongst Europe... it could not have been avoided. It sparked the beginning of WWII though... Had the Treaty of Versailles not put the screws to Germany, notable two things.. which are "Germany takes responsibility for starting the war" along with "Germany had to pay for all the repair damages done unto the Allies".. WWII could have been avoided. .. or at least, in the sense that it took place. Remember.. the President Woodrow Wilson wanted nothing to do with the Treaty of Versailles .. and he pretty much didn't.. (i.e. Wilson's 14 points).

it was inevitable. without nuclear deterence and the huge buildup of military in europe, plus the lack of good relations between the European countries meant the war was unavoidable.
