Or will you have left something undone, something of importance to you and your ambitions? Do human beings ever realize how short their lives are before they see the end right in front of them?

rs_psych, why the hostility? Did I hit a nerve? Actually, I've been out of college a long time now, and my grandchildren play around me often, as they're doing now.

With the things that I have been given to deal with in my life I would be very satisfied with the way that things are now with the exception that I would be leaving a minor daughter. IF this would happen in a few years when A is an adult, I would be sorry to leave my children but for the most part I have taught them and shown them that you can have a life no matter what hand you're dealt with. All of us have learning disabilities and two of us have psychological disabilities. But I have proven to them that if you work hard enough you can achieve what you want and have the life that you want. What more can a mother want to leave her children except the sense of love that she has for them.

I, for one, feel pretty good about the life I've had up until today. I got a lot in before my 25th year, and things have been quiet but good for the last 8. I am ready to ramp it up again, so we'll see where the next chapter goes. Life is indeed short. I think the key is to accept the fact that somethin' is gonna get ya, so you might as well get going with life!

Most would not.Given the choice, resources and freedom, they would not have done those things which they wanted to do,at any point of time in their lives either.Just human nature.Yes all humans know about short lives on this earth but knowledge and awareness are different.Only with awareness we go about doing things which we ought to do.Therefore, very few humans shall ever die satisfied.

Jumping right into existential psychology...I hope to be satisfied and think I will be. I think a lot of people get really freaked out by death and dying issues.

How do tell, am I suppose to know right now?

Unless someone has an actual idea of when they will perish, how can anyone be sure if they will be satisfied?

I could have 40 years left to finish everything I've ever wanted to, or I could perish tomorrow, so how can I possibly answer your question.

Stay in school kiddo, presenting poorly executed existential questions is nothing to be proud of.

I might be more concerned with the concentration of my morphine drip.

Seriously, I am satisfied that I have done my best for people and animals and if God wants me home tonight.....I'm ready.
