which of the following solutions is the most basic?
a.) 0.5 M NH3
b.) 0.1 M KOH
c.) 0.1 M Ca(OH)2

i think that both b & c are strong bases, but i dont know how to compare them. also, i kow that nh3 is a weak base, but does concentration have anything to do with it?? i dont get this problem?

ps- i should be out at a dumb party getting wasted but im here doing ap chem. you want my life.

its 'c' because it ionizes to 2 moles of OH- for every one mole of Ca(OH)2, whereas all the others are not as strong.

The calcium hydroxide has 2 moles of OH- for every mole of base. So it probably is the more basic.

OK really I have no idea, but really no one else answer this is going to be out at a party, my real mom was an alcoholic, gambling jerk, who doesn't keep i contact, either she's in jail or found another husband, my dad is getting married, and my to be mom was pregnant with my dad's baby but just had a miscarriage, do you want my life??
