my husband, daughter and i all have two middle names. Should we give our other children two?

We are unsure alot of people blast us about using two so we thought about only using one middle name for the rest of our children, but will our other children wonder why mommy daddy and sissy all have two and they dont or do you think it will not matter?

Ignore people who "blast" you about using two middle names. They're fools. And it's none of their business anyway! There is nothing unusual or wrong about using two middle names. You need to do what you feel is right. It sounds like continuing a tradition in your family is what's in your heart.

I think it is a good idea to give your other children 2 middle names as well. I think it is a good family tradition, something all of you will share. My father-in-law and his father had 2 middle names, but they did not continue the tradition with my husband and his 2 sisters. We discussed going with 2 middle names for our children, but it wasn't something that anyone in my family did and my husband didn't feel all that strongly about it. I say don't worry about what other people say and do what you want to do. I think your other children will wonder when they get older about why the 3 of you have 2 middle names and they don't. I like it and know quite a number of people with 2 middle names. It is especially meaningful, I think, if at least one of the middle names is in honor or memory of a special family member.

I think that you should stick with the family tradition. Two middle names are cool. And not too many people have them. I'm all for not leaving the kids out and I'm sure that will be a question later on if the latter kids only have 1 middle name.

I don't think it matters, but for what it's worth, a lot of cultures give two middle names. I'm Irish Catholic and I have two -- the second one I picked myself at Confirmation, but I've used it since I was 12 and no one thinks anything of it.

I think your family has two middle name, I would go with two.

If your husband has two middle name, and you have a boy
Middle first Middle (Husband)
Middle Middle First(Husband)

I would not worry about it
Two middle names are fine, if it a family thing, it's prefect

Honestly, your worried about middle names when theres education and broken hearts and things that parents have to deal with in the long run?
Basicaly it wont matter sure they'll ask but in the end theyll think like any kid does that you have a really long name!
