I can't stand using the cursor control pad on my laptop, so I bought wireless usb mouse for it. The mouse works fine except in full-screen applications (like games). There it vanishes, flashes in and out, jerks around erratically, and basically does not work.

What could be the problem?

By the way, the pad still works -- I would have thought it would stop working since a mouse is attached.

Hi. Both the pad and the mouse will work together. If you are are running a game then the computer will look at the game first and the mouse second. If it works otherwise then the mouse is working normally.
