I plan on moving to Phoenix, Arizona with my boyfriend next year. Currently we're looking for a decent, one bedroom apartment with a garage parking. I would also like to find a placed furnished but can't seem to find a good enough place so I'm thinking of moving into an unfurnished place. Problem is we won't be able to afford any of the expensive furniture I've been seeing online and such, and I'm not sure how Rent-a-center works. Can anyone help me figure out what to do, should I keep looking for a furnished place or does anyone know where I can get decent, cheap furniture?

one option that a lot of americans explore is putting yourself about $6000 deep in credit card debt. realisticly what you need to do is save. pay cash for your furnishings and you'll be happy and not in debt. put 20% of your income away until you move. you should have enough

I was in a similar situation not long ago and the best advice I can give you is see if you can find an inexpensive furnished apartment. If not, go unfurnished and go to a place like Big Lots or Value City Furniture. I wouldn't go with furnished anyway. The furniture may be old and worn.

I know that the stores I mentioned have sets that are reasonable. Give those a try

I have two recommendations to locate furniture.I have found Craigs List has worked for a friend with twins, and she is pretty low income on finding things. Also some Salvation Army thrift stores and others offer furniture at a good discount with the money going to charity. I have a wonderful lamp I use on a regular basis from a thrift store, and it looks and works great. Garage sales can be quite affordable, too.

Check out Craig's List for furnished apartment rentals. If you're not able to find one that's furnished, bring the sleeping bags and plan to camp in for a bit of time. Looks for estate and garage sales in good neighborhoods - you'll probably find very good deals at great prices.

Buy your furniture at Ikea. Love them!!

Ikea is a global chain of furniture stores, founded in Sweeden. They sell really well-designed furniture for very reasonable prices that will last you years. You can definitely furnish your apartment will good furniture there for not much. You have to assemble it yourself though.

They have a store in Tempe, which is right next to Phoenix.

DON'T rent furniture. That is crazy! You pay twice as much.

Save up and buy it. If you can't afford to buy basic furniture, then you should not be thinking about moving. Especially not with your "boyfriend".
