what is the best way for a shy guy to meet new people or even to meet girls? maybe places you have in mind? i have tried everything to break my shy streak and nothing seems to work. got any ideas???

i am a shy girl who's constantly asking myself why guys won't step up more and ask girls out. Both guys and girls are scared of making the first move, but if you have your eye on someone and you think she kind-of likes you too just go up to her and ask her if she wants to do something after class or something. Girls like guys who take the initiative to go up to them and ask them out...it makes girls feel special and I can't answer for the girl that you like, but if someone I had my eye on did that to me, I'd be even more inclined to say yes! omg. your just like me. only im a girl. im becoming scared that im probably gonna end up alone. coz if things are like this now, how am i ever gonna get anyone. its really hard, lonely experience but try haveing a glass of wine. it helps me to relax a little. but dont make a habbit of it. :D
also what i noticed, is that when i was working i had to talk to people on the shop floor and other staff, that made me come out of shyness a little. but it helped. even tho it wasnt a big difference.
maybe you need to throw yourself in the deep end a little.
i dont know much more then that. its gona be a long road, for people like us. but im sure it can only last for so long, untill we ourselves cant stand it and just take a plunge.

lol From what I've seen, you've come to the right place! People are constantly saying they love someone here, are living with someone they met here or married someone they met here.
I would think for here, it all starts with a simple email.
It's hard to break being shy. I was that way for a very long time. I don't know when it changed, but I just started talking to people more easily.
