Hi. If you are sure you want to do this click on "Start> Run>" and type in 'cmd'. When the window opens type ' Format C: ". this will erase ALL data and you will need a Windows (or other) Operating System disk to make it work again. Be sure, OK?

If you reformat it you will lose everything, operating system, the lot. Are you sure this is what you want to do? If so, create a start up disk for your operating system, use the Help & Support Centre for instructions, boot the PC from this and when you get to the DOS prompt, type format c: and hit enter. Please be aware that once you have hit the enter key, there's no turning back. If you want something not drastic, email me with what you want to do and waht operating system you are using.

For the sake of the question I will assume you are using Windows XP. First and foremost - backup all you important data. Next, if you have a system recovery disk pop it into the drive and then reboot your computer. Just follow the prompts to recover your computer. This basically means that your computer will be set back to factory defaults as if you first purchased the computer.
