He completely finished shedding, except for his feet. The dead skin has been stuck on there for almost 5 days now. I tried getting it off for him, but he freaked out, and struggled so hard that I was afraid he was going to hurt himself.

That dead skin is bad for him, I assume? What should I do?

"KimbeeJ ": He does have a "moist shelter". But thank you!!! I had no idea it was that bad, or I would have asked sooner. I will make him a warm soak ASAP.

That dead skin on his feet can constrict like a tourniquet and cut the blood supply off to his toes, and he could lose his toes! Place him in a rubbermaid container with just enough warm water to cover his feet. Watch him closely, but leave him in it for 15 minutes. Then, take a wet q-tip and GENTLY try to roll the dead skin off his feet. If it doesn't come off, soak him again and try again. If it still doesn't come off, repeat the next day. It is so important that leopard geckos have a moist hide box on the warm side of their cages at all times--they can go in it at shedding time and then this problem rarely happens. When mine has a hard time shedding I use a spray like repti-shed to help things along. Also if you offer a little moisture from some moss that could make things a little easier. I took a cheap tupperware container and cut out a little doorway for my gecko so she could go in her little "sauna" as she pleases. Mine is a little "special" when it comes to shedding too. Her problem areas are her face and toes. Just so ya know your not alone.

you can switch your insurance to geico.
or you should get the dead skin off for him. he freaks out only because he thinks youre gonna chop his foot off or something.
