I know why I have the pain; I just ran the mile in gym, and that always makes my back and the back of my legs hurt. I ran it yesterday, so I'm extra sore today.
Any sort of home remedy for this? It's too late to go and get medicene - and my mom doesn't want to go anywhere. I just need some relief so I can sleep tonight.

Sometimes when I stand up after sitting for a while, my legs sort of go into shock and I stumble, because my legs weren't used to the pain. Just thought I'd mention that.

As a former track and cross-country athlete, I've been there, done that....For future reference, you'll DEFINITELY want to invest in some sort of Aspercream/sports rub and/or a mild painkiller...they'll be your best friend on the rougher nights..but DON'T overdo it...they've had some pretty tragic stories in the news with people dying of using too much muscle rub...
Your best bet is to alternate hot and cold therapy with things you already have at home...you don't have ice packs and heating pads then grab a bag of soft frozen veggies (peas work GREAT) and lay them on your back for about 4-5 minutes...then get a regular dish towel or something of similar size..however big you want...and just run it under water long enough to barely dampen it..don't SOAK it...then toss it in the microwave for 1 minute..let it sit for 20-30 seconds...OR brace your skin with a layer of clothing between it and your skin..and apply it....a VERY long and hot bath works MIRACLES on aching muscles....give it a shot...they say epsom salt will draw the pain out of the muscles..i've never used it, and still gotten terrific results...Not a bath fan? then just take one VERY hot shower...focusing on the problem area...you'll feel revived..If your lower back is an issue through the night, try sleeping on your back with a pillow braced underneath your lower back..it creates the natural curve of the spine and feels GREAT when you're aching.
Massage the problem areas and stretch, stretch, stretch them....it makes a world of a difference in breaking down the lactic acid that creates all that pain and stiffness...plus the massaging will help your body natural increase its circulation to that area, to regenerate.
Hope that helps!

You are probably developing a more serious lower back condition if it involves your legs. Get to a good chiropractor who takes a thorough history, x-rays and works well with local medical doctors.
It sounds like you have recently over worked the lower back and this usually leads to an inflammatory response. Take some NSAIDS like Ibuprofen or Aleve. Use ice not heat for 10-15 minutes every hour for the rest of the evening as well as tomorrow. Stretch your hamstrings lightly as well as lay on your back with your feet on the floor and knees bent and gently pull one knee to your chest at a time and alternate. Perform a few sets of 10 reps.
Place a pillow between your knees when lying on your side tonight and under your knees if you are on your back.
Hope this helps but do not let it go unchecked it is likely to become worse or more complicated.

They call it the hair of the dog , it's just a phrase used to describe it when you give a little more of what it was that hert you in the first place just some and , your muscles will use the new pain as a muscle relaxer , just use it as a loosing up device ,, in other words , push it just an ounce more and the resulting spathum will act as a relaxer so you might get enough relief to at least get to sleep,,

Drink a glass of orange juice after every time you exercise. It will help your body recover from the loss of essential vitamins and minerals that come from stressing muscles.
It sounds like you really need to eat a more balanced diet. Getting more vitamins and minerals such as B vitamins, calcium, potassium and magnesium. But the orange juice will help within about 15 minutes after excercise.
