One could say that if love defeated me, it won me over.

Or one could say I was defeated by love and lost.

Certainly I could say that love has won me over, but I think you are speaking in terms of being defeated as in losing.

Love ventured into can never be a love that is lost in total defeat. So, I would have to say, it never has defeated me, for I have always gained something in return that makes or made me a better person in giving, and receiving love.

This seems a deep question, may be I`m feeling deep today.... true love conquers all in its path, as christ died for the love in his father and brother and sisters through the spirit.
Any time I have felt defeated by love, it hasn`t been true or enduring. I have been defeated by passion on more than occassion and I must say, just to contradict myself again (always with the contradictions,) I have been boweled ( should it be bowled) hee hee by love and have succumbed and experienced love. If thats what you mean, I have surrended the love I`ve had for another.............but I don`t see that as a defeat, it has given me 2 wonderful children.......

No, never....at times I might have accepted defeat for the sake of love or even may have got defeated being in love...but never by it. Perhaps I am most fortunate and blessed in this case.

yes i have time and time again. as we age or rather become more mature we learn where we messed up. even my ex burned me good..i have been defeated by love because for 2 years of my life i made the relationship my main idea and sort of forgot what was important and missed out on so many great things such as my brother's winnings,my friends and their events, my sister, etc...i think that i was so in love that it just took over my life..now i am a wiser person and know for a fact that love can be your best and worst friend

Hi Rena,I have been very lucky to experience true love. But for enjoying those precious moments.I was defeated by love in a way because love was taken away.Leaving me bitter and hollow. And wanting more. And love is a roller coaster ride.Of highs and lows.Life and death too.

I have been hurt by people that I have loved but it has not defeated me, I still hope and dream that the "right" person is still out there for me!!

Yes, until I learned how to turn poison to medicine. Then the defeats became increased consideration and flexibility.

Yes, and the surrender ceremonies will never be forgotten. Even after 42 years and a million tears we are still at peace with each other.
